Best Dressed: Kristina Lagasse

Get Kristina’s look: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4

Hey there! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. How about we begin the week with a little office chic? (rhyme intended). Kristina Lagasse is the editorial intern for inRegister and I am constantly drawing inspiration from her ensembles. I’ve started to notice her knack for choosing trendy pieces that have serious staying power. Here’s the breakdown…

1. sheer lace collar shirt: When I was living in New York last summer, I began to notice more and more women opting for sheer blouses, even in the work setting. Upon noticing, I would think to myself, “Does she know her bra is showing?!” I soon came to realize that the answer to that question was yes. Hell yes. When I got over the initial shock, I realized that they’re dainty and feminine and sexy all at once. And now I say, “Yes!” to the sheer blouse too. While I still struggle with sheer blouses in an office setting, Kristina demonstrates how tasteful they can look when combined with a boyfriend-cut blazer. If you’re still hesitant to make the plunge, take baby steps like me by adding a nude tank underneath.

2. jewel-toned blazer: Jewel tones seem to be appear on the trend lineup every fall season, but that’s because they’re über flattering if thoughtfully chosen. This blue plays perfectly with her olive complexion.

3. accordion-pleated skirt: From bias and box to crystal and Fortuny, there are pleats aplenty out there. Accordion pleats are unique because they’re never sharp and they don’t lie flat. Instead, they move with a graceful softness that’s really flattering on a variety of body types.

4. animal-print tuxedo flats: These fall somewhere between a true flat and a loafer in both shape and style, which I find really refreshing. Kristina’s animal-print pair balance this look well since it’s otherwise comprised of solids.

Alright, that’s about enough outfit analysis for one day. Which trend do you like most? Do you see one that you’ll incorporate into your fall wardrobe? Leave a comment or shoot me an email. I’d love to know!

P.S. – Thank you, Kristina, for letting me capture your picture-worthy style!

Quote of the day:

“I think the idea of mixing luxury and mass-market fashion is very modern—wearing head-to-toe designer has become a bit passé. It’s a new era in fashion. There are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels and up-and-coming designers all together.” –Alexander McQueen
