drink week recap

From left: Starlight Royale, Blackberry Gin Fizz & Pear Thyme Fizz

Does anyone else have a hurri-cation/holiday weekend hangover? Going back to the office yesterday was tough! I’ve always heard that when it comes to hangovers, the only way to detox is retox. That said, I thought we’d have a little Drink Week recap this hump day.

The bride-to-be has spoken. Her top three favorites are the Starlight Royale, Blackberry Gin Fizz and Pear Thyme Fizz. Now it’s up to me to determine which cocktail is the perfect combo of deliciousness for wedding guests and easiness for bartenders. Yikes! That’s a tall order. While the Blackberry Gin Fizz was very nice to look at, it wasn’t the best tasting. If we choose that one, I would want to experiment further with the recipe. The Starlight Royale was delicious and would probably be the easiest to prepare ahead of time (no cutting or pureeing of fruit involved with this recipe). However, the Pear Thyme Fizz may just be worth the trouble. The mixture of apple juice, pear, thyme and orange liqueur was FAB. My friend’s husband tried it and said this one would most likely appeal to both men and women, which was good to hear since I’m kind of worried that guys won’t drink the Starlight Royale because of its pink hue.

But enough from me! I’d love to know what you think. Which cocktail would you most like to try? Feel free to leave a comment or email me. I hope you have a very happy hump day!

Quote of the day:

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson
